This week, I decided to teach how to cast a mold with plaster because it was my favorite!
First, go to a beach and dig a hole not too far but not too close from the shore and make sure it is deep enough to fill with plaster and that it is the shape that you want it to be.
Second, put either your hand/arm or foot into the hole. Have your partner gather wet sand and cover your arm/foot whatever you decide to use with the wet sand while forming the shape of the desired shape. Make sure to keep arm/foot in mold long enough for the shape to stay up.
Third, take out either your arm or foot, open your plaster carton and pour it into a bucket, fill half of the carton with water and pour it in with the plaster. Stir the plaster and water as fast as possible because plaster tends to settle/dry really fast. After you’re done stirring, pour the plaster into the opening of your mold and let it sit for 30-40 minutes.
As Glenn says, drink some tea in the meantime!
After that time has passed, remove the wet sand from the outside of the plaster mold and dig up and find the white plaster. Take it out and dust it off! Make sure not to soak the plaster mold in water the same day that it was formed because it will fall apart!
And that’s it! Easy creative piece of work!
